What they came with
International students arrive somewhere new and end up inside a group from their own country within about a week. It is the easiest thing to do, and it is the thing they later say they regret.
The project was agreed directly with the university's dean's office — discussed with an institution, not pitched at one.
What we built
What shipped does not argue with that instinct — it gives the group something worth being in. The nationalities to hear from are chosen by hand, and the city's news, events and places arrive filtered to them rather than to everyone at once.
Mobile first, because that is the only screen a student uses for this kind of thing.
What changed
Released on Google Play, and no longer only for the university it started at.
It is here because how it started says something the finished ones cannot: an institution agreed to build it with us. The app now has its own page, with screenshots and the install link — see yOdin.
